In 1972, John F. Kennedy was President and Lucy R. Levada was Vice President. Thomas Mahoney was Chief Steward with Shop Committee members Joseph Terra, Lucy Levada and Edward Ferreira rounding out the Negotiating Committee. Sally Battista was Recording Secretary and Edward Ferreira was Secretary Treasurer.

Local 587 enjoyed a 6.79% raise for this year per the contract, dated January 1, 1972.
