In 1980, Angelo Latini was President and Anthony Piermont was Vice President. Edward Ferreira was Chief Steward with Shop Committee members Anthony Piermont, Lucy Levada and Miles Mosher rounding out the Negotiating Committee. Mary Gaines was Recording Secretary and Louis Sousa was Secretary Treasurer.

 

This year, Local 587 received recognition from the IAM/AW in it's efforts to pave the way in the State of RI to achieve Cost Of Living Adjustment increases for the working people.

Local 587 enjoyed a 8.08% raise for this year per the contract, dated March 1, 1980.
