In 1999, Tony Piermont was President and John D' Alessio was Vice President. Shop Committee members David Estrella, Angelo Latini and Dennis Barker completed the Negotiating Committee. David Kay was Recording Secretary and Angelo Latini was Secretary Treasurer. Everett Corey was our Business Agent.

This year Local 587 went back to the negotiating table for money and negotiated a 6.22% raise for this year. There were also changes made to the pay-grade levels as those no longer needed were deleted from the contract. These included the lowest pay-grade levels, 1 and 2, as well as level 4. 

PTO (Paid Time Off) was also introduced for employees hired after 3/1/99. This replaced the Sick/Vacation time still utilized for those hired prior that date.
