In 2000, Tony Piermont was President and John D' Alessio was Vice President. Shop Committee members David Estrella, Angelo Latini and Dennis Barker completed the Negotiating Committee. David Kay was Recording Secretary and Angelo Latini was Secretary Treasurer. Everett Corey was our Business Agent.

This year, Local 587 voted to accept by-law changes. One of the issues considered was the increase of the term-of-officers from one to three years in order to reflect the IAM/AW Constitution. Another change reflected the changes from District 64 to 170.
Local 587 enjoyed a 5.69% raise for this year per the contract, dated March 1, 1998.
